Riken was established in 1982 and was initially a supplier of motor control systems that were produced in Taiwan. Over the years, the brand built a reputation as being a reputable brand of excellent quality. The product range was expanded to include a variety of low voltage electrical products, and the business went from strength to strength.

Today, the Riken brand is sold in various countries in Southern Africa, and throughout South Africa. The head office is based in Silverton, Pretoria.

Early in 2022, Riken Electric was acquired by Brendyn Meyer. Brendyn and his team have a wealth of experience in the electrical industry. They bring a dynamic element to a brand that has stood the test of time.

The product basket has expanded further recently and now also incorporates DC and solar products.
